Most guys put topends in around 400 hrs on bikes that see typical use, if it's been raced or ridden hard then adjust downward accordingly. AS for bearings, replacing those are pretty rare but I'd imagine around 600 hrs it'll need the crank done.
Not sure whether it is good or bad, but I just had my top end done on my KTM 2015 XCF-W at 300 hours. I pretty much only ride single track and most of it is pretty tight so I don't spend a lot of time up in high rev's. I did it at 300 hours as a preventative measure. 300 hours omg! My 350 SX-F is at 39.00 from factory and the valves are perfect. I have been doing research for my next enduro. I know there is about 1.5 liters in the EXC 450/530. Don't know.what the 690 holds. I have plans for the TAT next summer. My friend did the second leg this past week on his 530 EXC. He said the oil capacity was the only kink in the armour. I just wondered because the 690 seems to be more street The 450 rebuild interval according to the manual is something crazy like 60 hours if I remember right. After talking to many individuals and a few shops I've gotten pretty close to the same response of 150 hours. Of course you could stretch it out further I'm sure and many do without an issue.
Spud786. When dealing with ktm parts, you not only have to consider (wear), but that they make stuff so light and thin, Metal fatigue is a much stronger issue than wear. But as Long as the air filtration is good, and you warm the motor of well, and change the oil as recommended, up to 500 hours is pretty safe.
Ignore the service intervals for eveything. Just keep the air filter clean, change the oil and clean the 2 screens every 250 to 500 miles and the oil filters every 4th oil change. The camchain wears quite slowly, will last 4000 miles or so if you are lucky. This is how to check it:
