To get a mount you need to have path of fire and unlock each mount from there. Most mount can be unlocked by following the main story quests but there are 4 which can only be unlocked through achievements which are the griffon, the roller beetle, the warclaw, and the skyscale

Gives an incentive to spend again but not that much, allows access to mounts perhaps to lower leveled players as a 15 minute mount with maybe a daily cooldown almost like a speed boost purchase but more expensive.
Starting from the Remains of the Last Spearmarshal, mount a griffon and travel south to the feather on your minimap. First fly up the ledges and once on the top, you will see a structure across the way - Fly over to it, dismount the griffon and get on your springer. You will need high jump to make it.
